Tokyo Tower

What do you imagine is represent in Japan? Mt, Fuji, Samurai, or Anime? How about Tokyo tower? Photos of Tokyo tower.

Tokyo tower is must-visit place if you want to know the city, Tokyo. It is surely included to school excursions which are basically for schools far from Tokyo. People not also in Japan but also in the world visit there to see the great view from the observation platform.

The height of Tokyo tower is 333 meters which is tallest radio wave tower in Japan since its establishment in 1958. You can see 360℃ view of Tokyo at Daitenboudai ikkai/大展望台1階 (first observation platform) whose height is 145 meters. Especially in the west side, you can see Roppongi Hills, and the Imperial Palace and the Diet Building can be seen in the north side.

At the floor, you can try thrilling window called “Look Down Window” That’s a little bit scary to step on the window, but it never breaks even if you jump on it, of course.

It is also good to see the view at night. Since Tokyo tower always opens from 9am to 10 pm, you can enjoy different faces from it in daytime. Every Wednesdays and Thursdays, music artists gather Club 333 there and hold concerts mainly from 7pm which is free live.

As French, I prefer the Eiffel tower. I think it is nicer. But the light effect of the Tokyo tower are more nice (in recent years, this also improved a lot on the Eiffel).

It is only possible to go to the first platform? On Eiffel, it's possible to go to the third (300m), but the tower is normally closed at night :( (but I don't think that Paris shine as much as Tokyo by night).

yeah, that's nice view. i think i could see even Mt. Fuji. If you want to see clear Tokyo, it might be better go there in early morning; otherwise, tokyo got slight smoke in the air soon.

If you're interested in a movie about the building of the Tokyo tower, and post World War II Japan, I recommend the movie Always (not sure of the Japanese title...lemme look real quick...)
:(, I couldn't find it on IMDB.

I forgot to put the link to what you can see from the tower
I hope that I will someday take similar photos.

I see on recent photos of the tower the message "Tokyo 2016". Is it for the Olympic games?
